Arkansas 2nd Duck Season

The 2nd season actually opened on the 4th. Due to my commitment to running a 5K in the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend, I had to delay my hunting until Sunday morning and miss the first 3 days of the 2nd season. Not a big deal considering the chance to raise money and help those great kids at St. Jude.

Anyway, Sunday was not a fast paced hunt as we have lost a lot of ducks due to the continued mild temps we are experiencing. But we still have enough to make it interesting.

A couple of pics of the ducks from Sunday.

Nice mixed bag! Our Woody’s headed your way long ago.

I like the mixed bag of ducks. Fatman enjoys the mix of feathers in his jigs. We kill plenty of mallards and it is a joy to shoot something other than a mallard. Woodies, teal and gray ducks are my favorite.

I hear you. I love diver hunting personally but I try to kill every species of duck that uses the Mississippi flyway, most years I succeed.

Let me just say you did the right thing. Pretty good hunting also.

Nice ducks!!! and I really do appreciate the feathers!! But raising money for the kids AWESOME!!!

With the warm weather that we are experiencing, we have lost a lot of ducks. We’ve still got a few around, but things have slowed down. I had some guests this weekend and didn’t get a lot of pictures but here’s what I got.

Very nice!!
