A few more from the opening first season
Nice! I that last photo a hen shoveler?
Looking good!
That last picture looks to me like a very very very immature drake mallard. Can't see its wing patch good and the bill color isnt right so I'm pretty sure its not a black duck.
That last picture is an immature drake. We killed that this past Saturday. My dad and I had 3 mallards drop in and we thought it was 2 hens and an eclipse drake. I thought dad was shooting the eclipse so I picked a hen. He thought the same thing about me. We killed what we thought was 2 hens and one of them was that drake in the picture. That's the first time in 45 years of duck hunting in Arkansas that I've seen a drake with that plumage. We see a few each year with "faded" coloration, but never anything like that.
Here's a few more pictures that I didn't have time to load yesterday.

Glad to see ya back here. Looks like you've been having some good hunts in Arkansas.
Thanks Drake. Fishing has consumed me and has limited the time I have to get on here and post. I'm glad duck season is here so I can get away from the fishing boat for a while (at least till February 7)
We've got 51 days left in our season. Hopefully it will be good the remainder of the season. It's not looking good at this point as the weather is warming and we have lost lots of ducks.
Nice ducks!!! wish the docs would let me go but winter has set in so tackle making is gonna get into swing = BUT!! the docs are letting me go back to work don't know if that's good or bad though!!!!!!!LOL
Fatman, good to hear you are finally getting to go back to work. Hopefully that means you will get to hunt next year!
I've just about got you a gallon bag full of feathers. I'm sure I can top it off this next weekend. When I do, I'll get it in the mail to ya and start a new one!
