    Kansas Hunters Report

I'm located in NE Oklahoma/SE Kansas.

    Birds are just filtering in.

    Cheyenne Bottoms Kansas - 10/29/13.

3 man limit of Greenwing / Bluewing Teal, Redheads, Gadwalls, Scaup.

I shot my first Snipe - been wanting to kill one of these to eat/photo. Taste exactly like dove.

Birds did not decoy or respond to call well. Very shy. TON OF BIRDS high and moving. State report estemates 30-50,000 birds.

Fellow Oklahoma/Kansas hunters feel free to report.

I'm in the SE zone and getting ready for the AM. I won't give reports telling anybody where they shot the birds. Just brings unwanted pressure. I will say it was one of the best teal seasons ever, and we got 4.5" of rain the past couple days so we are in better shape for water than we have been in years.

McPhearson and Cheyenne Bottoms posted a record breaking number of birds harvested this year during teal season. This year may be one for the record books. I also will be killing ducks in the morning in the south east zone.

Saw lots of mallards today. Shot 2 wood ducks, 2 mallards, a pintail, and a ringneck. The 2nd mallard outswam the dog to open water. It blows the SE zone doesn't open again for 2 weeks.

Thanks guys for these great reports.

kswaterfowler - Great photo. I didn't notice the camo originally, blended in too well.

We are still over 2 weeks from getting started. Glad you are killing some ducks. We have a fair number of ducks now. That number has built quickly in the past 2 weeks. 2 weeks ago, we didn't have any ducks at all.

We killed a 3 man limit by 8 am on Saturday. Greenwing Teal, Pintail, Gadwall, Ringneck, Widgeon, Shovlers. Sunday we saw more big ducks. Sunday we took the young gunz. We killed 13. Good mix of birds. Awful hard to see 5K birds pile in last night, knowing I can't hunt for a couple weeks. Peasants this weekend!

I was in a corn field by a river in Iola ks working on a tractor today and seen 100 honkers land behind me and 8 different groups of ducks flying the river it's looking good the geese will stay as always and the river holds many groups of ducks all year at the ripples

Brother hunted a pond today 2 miles north of the SE Zone. He was done in under an hour. He said loads of birds migrating this afternoon. He shot 3 gaddies and 3 ringnecks. We need to get a blind put on this pond.

Cold morning. 19 when I got out of the truck to hunt. Got set up to have guy walk in 30 minutes before. They then fired the first volley 6 minutes before legal. At that time there dog went awol. Ended up on my side of the cove way out in the lake and obviously struggling. Finally got it to come to me then walked 1/2 way across the cove to return it and tell them to watch the clock a little better. They were very happy to get the dog back. Had a diver smackdown. 2 gwt, 3 buffleheads and a redhead. Missed a drake canvasback. Saw a lot of new ducks and geese. Ready for the SE zone to open so I can get to pounding them.
