Turkeys do seem strange this year in East and North East Kansas. Lots of hens and hen groups without gobblers. Seems really early in the season for the amount of single hens running around. Saw almost 10 tonight including 2 pairs no gobblers anywhere near um. Haven't jumped any off the nest in the woods. Swems strange to me. Boy and I managed to tag out on our first try last weekend. Well see how they are next year.http://www.winghunter.com/wing/album...tachmentid=190

Missed again this afternoon. 2 toms and 2 jakes at 15 yards. Switching guns for tomorrow morning. Brother smoked one an hour into his hunt this morning. Sent me a text that said "I don't miss". We are going back to the spot he got his.

8.5" beard, 1" sharp spurs. Watched him keep running off a satellite tom that had a rope for a beard. His beard was mostly rotted off. Used a creek, then belly crawled down a ditch to get into position. Laid prone for 30 minutes waiting for my shot.

Maybe you shot off his beard the first day and finished him off now.

Naw the wispy beard was a dead giveaway that I was dealing with the same 2 birds.
