So... It's almost September, and I think the Duck/Goose seasons are starting to open up.

Let's hear when the season is opening up by you, the area, and when you think you'll be going, if not opening day. :)

Sept 1 is dove and geese here in Va , sept 17 for teal. Alittle early for me to be in the beaver swamps though, some big cottonmouths until the first good frost. I hope to shoot some dove though. I already bought licenses, stamps, got 10 boxes of #3 s and #4s

This past weekend was the opener for the Texas Teal season. We had lots of birds on the lakes prior to opening day. The cold front this weekend pushed the birds out. We managed a 5 man limit on Saturday and killed 6 on Sunday. Nov. 1 - Dec. 7, Dec. 20-Jan. 25 are the dates for big duck season for the North Zone in Texas.

There's a small reservoir that the city built on a tract of land that belonged to a friend of mine. I don't know the entire story about the place, but my friend has the rights to hunt and fish it. It may be 100 acres. The city put in a ramp so it's game on. We hunt from boats unless we hunt ponds. I've got a gator trax, gator hide boat. We just brush it with cane, willow and cedar... It's a very deadly setup.
