Closing weekend of Kansas duck season and I will be without the dog. 2 days ago I noticed a large nasty looking sore on her paw. I started treating it with Neosporin and such. It wasn't getting any better so the wife took her to the vet today. Antibiotic wrap has to stay on for 48 hours and she can't get it wet. Hoping whatever was in her paw is out or the next step is sedation and cutting it open to look. I swear I have had the worst luck this year.

Sorry. Hope your dog heals well. I'm in the same boat with you on the luck.... Last year sucked; blaming it on the 13 in the year. Hopefully this year is better. :)

Last day for us as well. 300 miles of scouting in two days revealed slim pickens for ducks. We chose a pond that usually gives us a chance at both. My brother is finishing up his Paramedic field internships so we got to the pond late. 3 groups tried to come in as we were breaking ice. Finally got the ice broken out and saw 2 canadas and a flock of specks from 1100 till sunset. After sunset 30 mallards went by. Then about 1810 as we were driving out the geese returned to the pond with reckless abandon. Pond is new to us this year and we are still trying to figure it out.
