I'm just hunting the weekends now, but we are still killing ducks. 12 on Saturday, 16 on Sunday and I got reports from the guys hunting the blind after I left that they killed 15 on Monday and 20 yesterday. With the warming temperatures, I would have figured it would have slowed down already.

Here's Saturday's picture

Thanks for the report. What kind of blind are you using currently, if I'm even asking that right? I mean, I believe you said you do flooded timbers typically. Do you have a blind set up there.

Here's one of the blinds we hunt. This was taken a few years ago right after we got it built and in place and prior to brushing it.

Here's a picture of the blind brushed.

And here's the other blind we hunt that is not a floating blind.

That was taken this summer while we were attaching the arbor to the back of the blind.

All you have to do is put crappie hooks on your decoy line and bait them with minnows every morning. Gives your decoys some action when you get a bite and you can pick up some good eating off the decoys!

I learned that from a guy that hunted on Kentucky Lake. Where I hunt, I tend to end up with catfish and tangled decoys.

I do use my decoys in the summer when "jugging" the Mississippi River though. You can see a decoy a long ways off.
